At GLD we believe in the reality of root cause solutions. We understand that tension and trauma are root causes to many issues that arise in pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and infancy. For those reasons, we are so excited to provide quality care by excellent people in order to be able to support mom and baby well.
Overall alignment in the body’s tissues from right to left and front to back play a tremendous part in attaining a strong, pain free pregnancy which in turns plays into an easier/quicker delivery, which can inform a smoother recovery in postpartum. Our time together focuses on learning your own body compensation patterns, educating you on how to move and lift safely and appropriately in pregnancy, how to actively seek balance in your body with movements selected specifically for you, and recovering optimally in postpartum. In a maximum of 5 sessions, Mandi uses the 5 pillars from the BODY READY METHOD to attain these goals. The 5 pillars are alignment, upper body, core, pelvic floor, and pelvis. This offering is available to both GLD clients and non-clients and is appropriate at any time in pregnancy or postpartum.
Three of our doulas at GLD are trained from the Spinning Babies Practitioner Workshop and are ready to help prepare your body to carry your baby in an optimal fetal position starting at 35 weeks. Using the “3 sisters of balance” strategy, you and your doula can work to learn these techniques together. Body balancing is especially helpful for malpositioned babies, discomfort in pregnancy, being past due, prodromal labor, and for kick starting labor! The session is about 1.5-2 hours, and partners are always encouraged to join and learn with us as well! This is an offering for both clients of GLD and non-clients.
Breech babies respond to this method very well! In addition to the three sisters of balance, your doula will walk you through a specific 3- hour breech turning circuit seven times to help encourage baby to gently turn head down. This is especially helpful to someone who is looking to prepare and stack the cards in their favor for a positive ECV outcome!
