What Is a Postpartum Doula?

A postpartum doula is a professional with credible experience and training in the first year after childbirth.

Bringing home a new baby is an unpredictable and overwhelming experience. We are prepared to support you through physical and emotional recovery after birth, the challenges of caring for a newborn and the many adjustments during this time of life.

Postpartum Packages

Every postpartum package includes:

one prenatal visit
unlimited phone, text, and e-mail support
guidance, physical, emotional, and practical support during the home visits including breastfeeding, self care, nutrition, and sleep support

The hours you need are up to you!

Recommended hours:

3- just a quick visit to check in
15- about 3 visits
30- about 6 visits
45- about 9 visits

Scheduling and length of visit are always a conversation between family and doula.

Cost begins at $110 and rises by $40/hour.

From diapering to breastfeeding to nourishing the family and everything in between, we are here to guide and support you on this second half of your big adventure however you would like that to look.

Services typically included in postpartum visits: emotional support, physical support, infant feeding support, household maintenance support, nutrition, sleep support (for parents and baby), older siblings support, pet support, and more.

We are thrilled to be able to partner with a professional cleaning company to offer even more practical postpartum support to GLD clients and their families! Kris Cleans and Co is an excellent, professional, and safe company owned by two mothers who are excited to offer this exclusive offering to GLD customers!

Here are the details:

2 hours of cleaning/ visit for $98
Within 20 miles from Grand Rapids. Then a $29 travel fee for every 20 miles there after.
YOU get to choose the areas in your home that you need support with the most- selections are made on the intake form
You are welcome to be home or away when the clean is taking place
sign up for as many cleans as you need in your first 12 months of postpartum! No long term commitment- just get help until you are ready to return to your normal.
